So, how would it work?
By 2020, the Knights would be paid $500 million by the league to build their new arena. They would also receive a payment of $25 million per year for the first two years.
That’s $750 million, if the NHL gave the Knights all of the money in 2021.
In the next five years, the Knights would be receiving $20 million per year in salary. That’s $2.4 million per year to be shared equally among the team’s top four players. That’s an average of $8.65 million per player per year. That’s 20 players.

While they may not need to give away all of the money, they would need to find players that could come in and fill a roster with that many players. And, it’s not that the NHL isn’t looking for players; it’s that they are looking for players that would be ready to play in the NHL right away.
How will they do it?
Online and locally, the Knights would need to sell out the new arena. It won’t be easy, as some might think. The Knights already have their jerseys, logo and colors, so the fans can’t decide not to go. In their first season, they would have to see a great amount of attendance, because the money they would earn from 2023-24 would give them enough money to build a great stadium, possibly in time to play in the new stadium for 2023-24.
